Welcome To February 6th
Today’s Important Headlines
🛏️ NIGO’s teenage bedroom will be in a UK museum
NIGO’s first museum retrospective outside Japan opens in London next year and includes a full reconstruction of his teenage bedroom. The exhibition spans 30 years of work across fashion, music, and design, featuring over 700 objects and personal artifacts, including hundreds of Bapestas, rare early designs, vinyl records, and more. It’s a rare chance to see firsthand how one of the most influential creatives shaped the global streetwear movement.
🎤 Nettspend is opening for Limp Bizkit in Poland?
In an unlikely crossover, Nettspend appears set to open for American rap-rock and nu-metal band Limp Bizkit in Poland. Online reactions were mostly disbelief, with many pointing to Ken Carson opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2024 as a similar moment. Together, they point to a growing wave of rap and legacy rock crossover bookings. The performance is scheduled for June 3 at Impact Festival.
🎧 Fans will be blindfolded for new Fugees listening events
The Fugees are celebrating 30 years of The Score with immersive, blindfolded listening sessions around the world. Pitchblack Playback events, held in cinemas and planetariums in major cities worldwide, switch off the lights and blindfold the audience to highlight every detail of the album’s production and emotional depth.
📰 Massive layoffs at The Washington Post
The Washington Post is cutting roughly one-third of its staff across departments, eliminating its books and sports sections, shrinking foreign coverage, and suspending its flagship podcast. Pulitzer-winning photographers and major desks are being cut as part of the restructuring. It is one of the clearest signals yet that legacy journalism is contracting, not adapting, and that new, sustainable replacements for cultural and investigative coverage will need to emerge.
🐍 Versace’s new creative director Pieter Mulier inherits a tough job
Mulier’s move to Versace has been all but official until yesterday. Many online felt former Versace director Dario Cologna was not given a fair chance, having completed only one show. While Pieter Mulier has built a highly successful career with major work at Alaïa, Calvin Klein, Dior, Jil Sander, and alongside Raf Simons, none of those labels face the same turbulence as Versace, which has struggled financially for years under Capri Holdings, with revenues declining 15% in 2025 and difficulty adapting to the market’s shift toward quiet luxury.

Flamingos in the bathroom of Miami Zoo during Hurricane Andrew in 1992.
The birds were placed there as a protective measure during the storm. They were enclosed together in this way for two days. All of them survived.
Other birds, such as storks (pictured below) were stored in different bathrooms around the Zoo.
