Today’s Important Headlines
🗂️ Maison Margiela just put its full archive online for free
For the first time since the brand’s conception in 1988, Margiela’s archives are entirely accessible for free. The “Maison Margiela Folders” archive also includes teasers for their upcoming Shanghai Fashion week show and accompanying exhibitions. The project continues a recent trend among major fashion houses, with Hedi Slimane beginning to upload his runway archives last week and Balenciaga archiving its entire Demna-era Instagram earlier this month.
🎤 xaviersobased documentary premieres this Friday
FADER will host a launch party for its xaviersobased cover story on February 13 in Brooklyn, featuring the world premiere of Keep It Going, a new documentary on the NYC rapper’s rise from underground to mainstream. The Vans collaboration event features a DJ set from DJ Rennesy, exclusive merch, and cover-linked posters, and comes amid strong early reception for his latest album.
🌃 Best NYFW afters
The week is long, and the nights are longer. Good afters this year include: Indie Sleaze NYC (Suzy Sheer, Damon R, 10cust); Very Rare Cinema (Skaiwater, Teezus, Diamond); and Silk Node (brat star, esp, bbpue). Plus, naturally, we’re plugging our own: welcome.jpeg (Frost Children, 2006WR, Brother in Belize, Quiet Light, Tenzin).
📺 PinkPantheress went on a UK game show - and did very well
PinkPantheress reached the final three on the UK quiz show The Weakest Link, correctly answering Lady Gaga and Harry Styles trivia and surviving multiple elimination rounds. Her appearance last week is the latest in a run of unexpected side quests. She has also appeared on Impractical Jokers and previously won a youth chess grand slam tournament in Bromley.
🏈Super Bowl betting was 10x bigger on prediction markets than in Vegas
Prediction markets processed about $1.33 billion in Super Bowl bets, compared to roughly $130 million across Las Vegas sportsbooks. Kalshi led with $871M in volume, followed by Polymarket with $312M, with several smaller platforms trailing behind. Even insider-style bets went sideways. Drake’s longtime associate, rapper Preme, wagered heavily on halftime performer outcomes and lost big due to how “performance” was defined. Dancing without singing still counted as performing, which cost him $178K after Cardi B appeared onstage dancing.
💍 Diamond rings hidden in Dave & Buster’s crane machines for Valentines Day
The chain called it “a proposal experience unlike anything couples have seen before.” On February 14, the rings will be mixed in with Human Crane prizes at select locations, giving couples a chance to win for just $20. There was some initial controversy over Dave and Busters failing to disclose that the diamonds were lab grown diamonds, which are valued significantly lower than the $15,000 they are promoting.

Ornate presentation swords hilts, (18th to 19th century)
Swords like these were made for ceremony rather than combat. They were often gifted to military officers or diplomats to mark service or rank.
Hilts were typically built from materials like ivory and gold, often carved with lions, eagles, or classical figures, while the blades were blued or gilded and engraved with names or mottos.
