🍊 Blood Orange performs five nights at Brooklyn Steel with limited live-concert CD pressings sold post-show
Fresh off a busy run opening for Lorde, Dev Hynes (Blood Orange) has sold out six nights at Brooklyn Steel for his Essex Honey Tour. Instead of a conventional stage setup, Hynes performs on an island in the middle of the audience, accompanied by his standing bass and core band of longtime collaborators. From covering The Smiths’ “How Soon Is Now?” to doing on-site CD pressings of each concert, the intimate residency highlights the raw, improvisational magic that makes Hynes a generational talent. If you’re lucky, you can catch him tonight for his final show.

💔 Von Dutch launches new sub-label, Von Dutch Loves
Claiming inspiration from Y2K culture and the internet, Von Dutch’s newest creative venture is unfortunately a disaster, despite noble intentions and collaborations with international DJs and artists. Indistinguishable from Von Dutch’s flat mainline clothing, the project feels lazy, Jaded London–coded, and directionally confused. Jake Paul appearing on their Instagram in big 2025 energy feels almost too fitting for the cursed vibe they’ve cultivated.
🖼️ Joan Mitchell has a must-see solo exhibit at David Zwirner
To Define a Feeling presents paintings by Joan Mitchell from 1960–1965. Reflecting her time spent between the social and political turbulence of New York and her family-centered life in the South of France, Mitchell’s abstract compositions never slip into chaos, and instead hold the tension of fleeting moments of beauty.
“That particular thing I want can’t be verbalized…. I’m trying for something more specific than movies of my everyday life: to define a feeling.” —Joan Mitchell, ARTnews, April 1965

Preserved prison tattoos by Katarzyna Mirczak
In the early 2000s, Polish photographer Katarzyna Mirczak documented a forensic archive found within a Kraków university that contained jars of tattooed skin collected from prisoners who died in custody.
The samples dated back to the late nineteenth century and were preserved in formaldehyde, each labeled with a first name, age, and cause of death.
They were made with improvised tools and pigments, then removed during autopsies and stored by researchers who catalogued their symbols.
