Tay Keith passed away
Grammy-nominated trap producer Tay Keith (“Sicko Mode,” “First Person Shooter”) was responsible for greatly shaping mainstream rap’s sound for the past decade, holding the the record for the most No.1s (6 total) on the Hot R&B / Hip-Hop chart this decade. Keith died Thursday in his Nashville apartment. While the cause is unknown, authorities have said they don’t currently suspect foul play. (Genre-bending singer Oliver Tree (“Miss You”) also died this week in a fatal mid-air helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, along with six other passengers across both aircraft.)

Balenciaga is entering the wellness space as creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli drops his TechWear collection debuting as part of the FW26 collection titled “Body & Being.” The brand is partnering with Barry’s (a popular boutique fitness chain), and running a series of pop-ups serving smoothies, healthy juices, and adaptogen-infused products. This reflects Piccioli’s broader strategy at Balenciaga which is not just a creative shift, but a market repositioning toward the affluent consumer who books Barry’s and embraces wellness trends like cold plunges and recovery culture.
Hollywood executives are going on Reddit to find new IP
The breakout success of Backrooms and Obsession has demonstrated how internet-born discussion threads can evolve into major studio productions, prompting agencies and studios to pay closer attention to digital subcultures. Specifically, they’re monitoring niche subreddits dedicated to short stories like r/nosleep, r/libraryofshadows, r/writersofhorror, and many more. As audiences become more fragmented and online-first, platforms like Reddit are emerging as valuable testing grounds for future franchises.
The 1200 year old tree that inspired the original Robin Hood just died
The Major Oak, estimated to be around 1,200 years old and famously tied to the legend of Robin Hood, died this year despite years of conservation efforts to save it. Experts attributed its decline to a combination of factors, including extreme heat, drought, poor soil conditions, human interference, and a weakened root system. Meanwhile, a tortoise named Jonathan now holds the title of the world’s oldest living land animal at 194 years old (c. 1832–present), with a lifespan that has stretched from the invention of the lightbulb and two world wars to the rise of the internet.
Midjourney is making a spa that could actually revolutionize medicine
AI company Midjourney unveiled ‘Midjourney Medical,’ which aims to make full-body medical imaging far faster and more afforable than it is now. Full-body imaging is a very effective form of preventative medicine that creates a highly detailed 3D map of patients body. But today, it’s too expensive and intensive for most. Midjourney is developing a 60-second ultrasound-based scanner which will be cheap to run and available in their 24/7 wellness spas alongside saunas, hot tubs, and cold plunges. Their goal is to create a global network of these scanners, capable of performing billions of scans annually.
