I would like to point out the confusion between the improvement of engineering and the invention of a new energy source.

Mechanical looms consistently became smaller because humans always have had been getting better at engineering, but the essence of productivity never changed before the invention of the steam engine.

Not that I disagree with this article, but I rather think the article might be underselling in that aspect.

However I would challenge the decentralization claim, we don't really own the operating system on our computers, nor do we own any office/creative softwares, these are all licensed to us.

If history rhymes, then capitals would always accumalate. What we actually own is a new chapter of productivity.
