There is a new “Bling Ring” targeting underground rappers

In a Bling Ring-esque plot, both Lucki and Bleood were robbed at their Los Angeles homes this week. Bleood was reportedly targeted earlier in the week by three armed men who stole roughly $200,000 worth of items, including clothing, electronics, and jewelry, while he was recording in his home studio. Lucki was not home when burglars broke in and ransacked his residence, making off with an estimated $500,000 worth of personal belongings. No arrests have been made, and suspects in both robberies remain unidentified.

Nearly 19 years after a UNICEF fundraising photoshoot in which a 20-year-old Lionel Messi bathed a five-month-old Lamine Yamal, the two are set to face each other in the World Cup final. Largely unknown until Yamal’s father shared them in 2024, the photos have resurfaced amid Yamal’s meteoric rise. PinkPantheress will make her acting debut in a new secret film directed by The Daniels, the Oscar-winning duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, best known for Everything Everywhere All at Once. Details remain tightly under wraps, with only a November 2027 theatrical release confirmed.

Charlie Kirk statue is coming to Times Square

Handcrafted by Italian sculptor Sergio Furnari, a statue of Charlie Kirk is set to be unveiled in Times Square on September 10, exactly one year to the minute after his assassination. Furnari has spent the past year creating the monument, insisting it be installed in Times Square, which he describes as “the center of the universe.” According to the project’s GoFundMe, he reportedly sold his apartment to help finance the sculpture.

NASA is recruiting people to simulate living on Mars for year

NASA is recruiting volunteers for a yearlong simulated space mission designed to study how humans adapt to life beyond Earth. Beginning in August 2027 at a Houston Space Center facility, participants will live inside a mock lunar and Martian habitat, complete with simulated spacewalks and rover operations, and navigate challenges like using a non-flushable toilet.

University of Silicon Valley is giving applicants scholarship money for their video game achievements

Gamers can receive up to $15,000 a year in scholarships at the University of Silicon Valley, based on their specific achievements in certain games. Eligible titles include Elden Ring, RuneScape, Dark Souls, Hades, Final Fantasy XIV, Cuphead, World of Warcraft, Destiny 2, Lost Ark, and Genshin Impact, among others.
