Welcome To March 4th
Today’s Important Headlines
JPEGMAFIA, Tame Impala, and Teezo Touchdown are on BTS’s new album
BTS have revealed the tracklist for their tenth studio album, Arirang, out March 20, their first release in six years following military service. The record features Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, JPEGMAFIA, and Teezo Touchdown, alongside production credits from Mike WiLL Made-It, Diplo, Flume, Ryan Tedder, and El Guincho.
Never-released Off-White x Loro Piana designs just leaked
A new batch of unreleased mockups shows a scrapped collaboration between Off-White and Loro Piana. The designs merge Loro Piana’s cursive logo with Off-White’s graphic motifs, including a face silhouette framed by two hands. The project makes sense in the context of 2016’s luxury-streetwear boom, even if it feels out of step with fashion’s current move away from streetwear.
Men are actually wearing ballet flats now
Ballet flats have moved from niche runway moments to everyday menswear staples. A$AP Rocky, Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, and Jacob Elordi have all worn them publicly, accelerating a shift that started on runways in 2020. Brands like Celine and Maison Margiela now sell men’s versions, alongside ballet-sneaker hybrids from Adidas. After the recent popularity of lower profile shoes like the Onisuka Tigers and the Adidas Sambas, the slim silhouette of ballet flats was inevitable.
Anime and manga are getting their own Christie’s auction
Christie’s is holding its first New York auction dedicated entirely to anime and manga. Running March 18–31 as part of Asian Art Week, the sale includes original cels from Hayao Miyazaki’s Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, works featuring Doraemon, manga drawings by Osamu Tezuka, vintage Godzilla posters, and prints by Katsushika Hokusai and Yoshitomo Nara. Most lots are estimated under $10,000, with many below $3,000.
Whitney Biennial 2026 preview
The 2026 edition of the Whitney Biennial opens March 8 at the Whitney Museum of American Art. The show features 56 artists, duos, and collectives, including Julio Torres, Joshua Citarella, Martine Gutierrez, and Precious Okoyomon. This year’s survey leans into mood and atmosphere, with work that reflects technology, geopolitics, family, and shared myth. Whitney members can see it starting today; it opens to the public on March 8.
This exhibition tells India’s history with 200 chairs
“A History of India Through Chairs” is now open at the House of Mahendra Doshi in Mumbai through March 8. Featuring more than 200 restored chairs, the exhibition traces India’s history from pre-colonial craftsmanship to colonial influence and modernist design. Originally collected by Mahendra Doshi and now stewarded by his family, the show treats seating as a record of power, class, and daily life, asking who sat, who stood, and who served. The excellent promo visuals extend that idea.
