2026 looks promising for new music. As genres continue to expand, morph, and blur, an environment ripe for innovation has begun to take shape. Fresh sound is percolating through the underground. A new class of artists is here.

But in an era when overnight success can come from a lookmaxxing video or a Skins UK edit, it can be hard to know where to find them. There are mainstream success stories who aren’t worth listening to, and musicians with tiny followings and negligible social media footprints making stuff that will define the next era.

This list is a good place to start your 2026 listening. It features 30 of our favorite artists with fewer than 100k monthly listeners on Spotify. Many of them collaborate with each other through features, remixes, or production. All are set to have a strong 2026.

Read on for spotlights on each artist, and find a playlist compiling some of their best tracks at the bottom of the article. Happy listening.
